I think one reason why Americans tend to be ridiculed is because a stupid American person always sounds even more stupid than any stupid person from any other country:
"I was there, you know, and there was this guy and he had, like, a gun, and then he was shooting and then everybody else was, like, totally dead."
When it comes to politics, the United States are a bit like the worst flatmate you can imagine:
"Oh, sorry, did I break all your shit? - didn't know it was yours.
I'ma replace it, some time ... with my stuff."
People always want what they don't have and are drawn to it when the opposite sex has it. Which is why men are into lingerie and women into uniforms. Say what you want about Nazi-Germany but these guys turned heads!
